When you begin your therapy journey with me, I take the time to get to know you both as a couple and as individuals. Our work starts with a 90 minute session together, which I see as an opportunity to understand what’s really at the heart of your relationship challenges. After that, you’ll each have a one-on-one 60 minute session with me, where you can share your personal history, perspectives, and experiences in more depth. Once these assessments are complete, we’ll begin working together as a couple.

The reason why we have regular and closely scheduled sessions is because this work is experiential. Neuroscience now understands that this is essential for real change to occur. This process is called limbic revision (rewiring the emotional brain–the limbic system–through repeated, emotionally corrective experiences) which is our goal in Emotionally Focused Couples work. For this work to be most effective, I recommend you book for 6 sessions (4 couple sessions and the 2 individual sessions) which during normal business hours comes to $1330 – after hours or weekends will attract an extra fee.

My couples work is centred around EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) but also draws from a range of therapeutic approaches. I therefore tailor my methods to suit your unique dynamic. My focus is emotionally and experientially driven—our aim is to explore your bond, discover where it gets challenging and work on ways for you to reconnect and deepen that connection. To make this work effective we don’t spend that much time dissecting the same arguments you already know so well.

Couple’s Intensive

If you are unable to commit to regular weekly/bi-weekly sessions and would prefer a more time intensive approach, you may want to consider a Relationship Intensive. Some limitations apply, so visit my intensives page to find out more.

Not Sure If Your Relationship Is Over

If you are unsure whether you want to stay in your relationship, you may want to consider Discernment Counselling, a short-term, structured form of couples therapy that’s specifically designed and focused on partners who are uncertain about whether to stay together or separate.

I welcome individuals of all cultures, sexualities, genders and ages.
