When you begin your therapy journey with me, I take the time to get to know you both as a couple and as individuals. Our work starts with a 75 minute session together, which I see as an opportunity to understand what’s really at the heart of your relationship challenges. After that, you’ll each have a one-on-one 60 minute session with me, where you can share your personal history, perspectives, and experiences in more depth. Once these assessments are complete, we’ll begin working together as a couple.
The reason why we have regular and closely scheduled sessions is because this work is experiential. Neuroscience now understands that this is essential for real change to occur. This process is called limbic revision (rewiring the emotional brain–the limbic system–through repeated, emotionally corrective experiences) which is our goal in Emotionally Focused Couples work.
My couples work is centred around EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) but also draws from a range of therapeutic approaches. I therefore tailor my methods to suit your unique dynamic. My focus is emotionally and experientially driven—our aim is to explore your bond, discover where it gets challenging and work on ways for you to reconnect and deepen that connection. To make this work effective we don’t spend that much time dissecting the same arguments you already know so well.
First Time Client Package
In order to ensure you get the most out of your investment by committing to 6 sessions, for a limited time I am offering 6 sessions for $1000 (normally $1180) for first time clients. When you commit to 6 sessions you basically get the 6th session for free. This is for clients who see me online and during the week. Additional charges may apply for after hours, in person and weekend clients. Consider this as an investment in one of the most precious things in your life–your relationship.
Couple’s Intensive
If you are unable to commit to regular weekly/bi-weekly sessions and would prefer a more time intensive approach, you may want to consider a Relationship Intensive. Some limitations apply, so visit my intensives page to find out more.
Not Sure If Your Relationship Is Over
If you are unsure whether you want to stay in your relationship, you may want to consider Discernment Counselling, a short-term, structured form of couples therapy that’s specifically designed and focused on partners who are uncertain about whether to stay together or separate.
I welcome individuals of all cultures, sexualities, genders and ages.
